What's Going On?
Trip to Tall Timbers2/21/2008
Several members from the Southern Heritage team attended a seminar held at Tall Timbers Research Station & Land Conservancy offered by the Georgia Chapter of Realtors Land Institute. Charlie Lathem, Stan Bennett & Mitch Lathem heard speakers on several key issues that effect today’s land market. The schedule included topics from the conservation of forests/farms/recreation lands through Conservation Easements & Conservation Subdivisions - a green alternative to conventional development to Green Building with a focus on energy efficiency, water conservation and site/landscape design and materials & the preservation and restoration of the Red-cockaded Woodpecker. The group was also taken on a tour of Centerville Conservation Community, a conservation development located just north of Tallahassee, Florida. Unfortunately, due to the weather the tour of Tall Timbers had to be called off, however, the three had taken the tour on a previous visit in 2006.
