What's Going On?Sporting Clay Fund Raiser3/10/2008March 10, 2008 The Lanier Branch of Quality Deer Management Association held their 2nd Annual Hunter’s for the Hungry Sporting Clay Fun Shoot this past Saturday at Etowah Valley Sporting Clays located in Dawsonville, Georgia. In attendance from Southern Heritage Land Company were Stan Bennett, Charlie Lathem, Mitch Lathem, Bill Frobos, Frank Riley, Rick Cooper, & Philip Leabo. The event will help raise funds needed to support the program developed by the Lanier Branch of QDMA & SHLC, several years ago, in an effort to help out in their local community. Last years totals were staggering, as they were able to distribute over 2,900 lbs of ground venison which was used to prepare some 14,700 meals. We would like to give a special thanks to Patrick Hroma, of PK’s Deer Cooler in Gainesville, GA, for processing the majority of this venison, Hicks Deer Processing in Crawford, GA, for the remaining 770 lbs of venison we were able to purchase, & to all the individuals that donated their money, deer, and time to this cause!
