Tax Implications of Real Estate transactions

3/28/2008
Mitch Lathem, Charlie Lathem, Stan Bennett, & Philip Leabo attended the Tax Implications course this week at the Georgia Association of Realtors office in Atlanta, Georgia. The class was held by the Georgia Chapter of Realtors Land Institute and was taught by Chris Bird of Chris Bird Seminars. Chris is a retired IRS agent and is an extremely knowledgeable individual when it comes to how taxes can have an effect on our real estate market. The course is a 12 hour (2 day) class offered by RLI and is currently a requirement for individuals that are working toward obtaining their Accredited Land Consultant Designation.

Tax Implications gives realtors some insight into all the factors that need to be addressed when an individual is considering the acquisition & disposition of real estate, the complexity of our tax system, and the things that individuals can do to maximize their return from their investment. The course is also very helpful in teaching realtors some simple techniques to help them save a little money on their taxes as well.

Some of the individuals at SHLC are advocates of the educational opportunities that are offered by RLI and see it as essential to their business to become as knowledgeable as possible on a constantly changing market.
