Lathem, ALC » Richard Lathem » Mitch Lathem » Jonathan Lathem » Tabethia Sutton » Rick Cooper Mitch Lathem is an Associate Broker at Southern Heritage Land Company where he has worked since 2002. He specializes in the acquisition & disposition of large acreage tracts, timber tracts, farms, mountain property, investment properties, recreational tracts, and commercial and subdivision developments throughout the Southeast. Mitch is very involved in the real estate community. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Georgia Association of Realtors, the Realtors Land Institute, and the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. Mitch is currently serving as the President Elect & as the Membership Chair for the Georgia Chapter of Realtors Land Institute. In 2006 the Hall County Board of Realtors recognized Mitch with the Circle of Excellence Award as a Million Dollar Producer. A Hall County native, Mitch is a graduate of North Hall High School. He attended Young Harris College where he received his Associate of Science in Business. Then Mitch received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Georgia, majoring in Agricultural Economics. During his studies at the University of Georgia Mitch spent several months studying abroad in New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia. Mitch is currently working on his Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) designation through the Realtors Land Institute (RLI), and hopes to begin working on acquiring his Certified Commercial Investment Member designation soon. He has taken many specialty courses through the Realtors Land Institute. They include Land Investment Analysis, 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges, Site Selection, Land Development, Creative Land Planning, Tax Implications, Land 101, Timber Analysis, Conservation Easements, Maptech Terrain Navigator Pro Mapping Course, and DeLORME Mapping Course, just to name a few. Mitch also spent one summer interning with John Davis, one of Southern Heritage Land Company’s Consulting Foresters. He helped John cruise and take inventory of timber, analyze and interpret data collected in the field, formulate the value of timber on property, and supervise logging operations. Mitch & his wife, Monya, are members of Lanier Hills Church in Gainesville, Georgia. They enjoy spending their summers as camp directors for TEAMeffort, a youth mission organization. They also love spending time working with The Torch, a local urban outreach ministry. In his free time, Mitch enjoys spending time in the great outdoors. He is an avid hunter, fly fisherman, backpacker, and photographer. In the fall of 2007, Mitch opened his own photography company, Foxfire Photography. He sells his fine art prints of nature and wildlife and is passionate about sharing God’s creation & nature’s beauty with others. He also custom builds frames using weathered barn wood & antique window frames. Mitch occasionally photographs weddings & special events & he also sells stock photography.
